Q: Ok! Two celebrations sounds amazing!

so when are you actually getting married?

A:

surprise! We already are!

​

an international relationship, immigration challenges and the logistics of a transatlantic move mean that a legal marriage, a wedding-esque party and a professed commitment based on sacred vows are all separate columns in one big and exciting story.

​

It may be some time before a legal marriage is permitted due to laws on two continents. Knowing this, we also knew that we wanted to commit ourselves to the mystery of marriage before the fog of immigration lifted...

​

In the words of a rom-com favorite: "When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."

 

With this in mind, we said our vows in private with our pastor August 25, 2024.

Q: Who is moving where?

​

A:

Minda is moving to Denmark! The big move is dependant on a few factors, the largest being the need for a danish residence permit, most easily awarded through a job secured in denmark. Once that is in place, off she goes!

Q: What does a gift registry look like then?

​

A:

Unconventional, just like everything else. Every ounce matters (and has a cost associated) when looking at moving a life over the atlantic. Our two lives are established and we are mutually downsizing what we have physically in this season. We don't need things like dishes or linens, but we definitely welcome other resources that can help us travel or make other decisions about a shared future together.
